Hindustan Times has withheld the names of the two players as there was no official confirmation of their identity.
Around 110gm of cocaine was found at the venue along with several tablets, suspected to be entactogenic drugs, like Ecstasy.
Police sources said there were a few celebrities and high-profile Mumbaiites, too, at the party.
Nangre Patil, who led the raiding party, told HT that the police had been tipped off about the party at the hotel Oakwood Premier and the raid followed around 8pm. The party was underway in the hotel pub. He said 58 men and 38 women were rounded up.
“Most of the patrons were foreigners,” Nangre Patil said adding that all those rounded up had been sent to the Bhabha Hospital at Bandra (West) and Cooper Hospital, Vile Parle (West), for blood and urine tests.
“We are waiting for the medical reports of the participants before initiating action against them for consumption of narcotics,” he said.
Most of the participants (both Indian as well as foreigners) were of the age group between 25-35. The nationality of the foreigners and the identity/profile of the Indian patrons was still being ascertained, Nangre Patil said.
Sources said that during the raid, those present at the party started throwing sachets containing the drugs out of the window. At the time of going to press, the police were trying to collect the sachets
