BEIJING (Reuters) - Tesla Inc CEO Tesla Elon Musk said on Saturday his organization would be closed down if its vehicles were utilized to see, his first remarks on news that China's military has prohibited Teslas from its offices.
"There's an extremely solid motivation for us to be exceptionally secret with any data," Tesla Elon Musk told a conspicuous Chinese gathering during a virtual conversation, declaring that Tesla would be closed down if its vehicles spied in China or elsewhere.
Sources told Reuters on Friday that the Chinese military has prohibited Tesla vehicles from entering its edifices, refering to security worries over cameras introduced on the vehicles.
Those limitations surfaced as the top Chinese and U.S. negotiators were holding a petulant gathering in Alaska, the main such in-person connection since U.S. President Joe Biden got down to business in January.
